    Children's Dentistry

Paediatric dentistry involves the delivery of specialised dental care for infants, children and adolescencents. To equip a dentist in providing best practice care for children, a paediatric dentist needs to complete postgraduate training, research, and supervised work at a specialty hospital paediatric dentistry department - in addition to an undergraduate dental degree.

Ingrained form his postgraduate training, Dr Robles follows a preventative and minimally invasive dentistry (MID) treatment philosophy in his practice.

Dr Robles would like to see kids for their 1st dental visit from the time their first teeth come through or their first birthday. Early establishment of a “dental home” for your child allow for detection of early signs of dental decay, modifying bad oral habits, and treating kids as needed as simply as possible.

He provides parents with an individualised program of preventative home care (brushing, flossing and fluorides) for their children. A caries risk assessment, information on finger, thumb, and pacifier habits, and advise on preventing injuries to the mouth and teeth of children, as well as diet counselling and information on growth and development are given to parents at the first consultation visit. All these are reviewed and reinforced at regular follow up visits.

Airway and teeth crowding problems can also be picked up during your child’s paediatric dental visits and a referral to an ENT specialist or specialist orthodontist can be made.
